Welcome to the Media Centre
The prostate cancer awareness month Media Centre is a dedicated, online resource to enable journalists to find the information they need to shape news items, features, interviews and fact files throughout the event. This year, The Prostate Cancer Charity will be encouraging everyone 'not to let prostate cancer hide', exposing some of the injustice surrounding the disease, calling for more to be invested in improving men's experience of prostate cancer and aiming to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms.
In the Media Centre, you will find all the background information you will need, from facts and statistics, details of our celebrity supporters and profiles of our spokespeople. The Charity's Media and PR Team is available to answer any further queries you may have and to help you arrange interviews, whether you wish to invite one of our specialist nurses to take part in a radio phone-in, or speak to a clinical expert about emerging research.
We understand that personal testimonies can add real weight to a story. Through our successful Media Talker's scheme we have access to around 150 people who have been affected by prostate cancer, all across the UK, who are willing to share their experiences with the media.
We can also have a range of spokespeople who can offer expert advice on a whole range of issues, from the research being carried out into prostate cancer to our campaigns to ensure the disease remains on the agenda and has 'no place to hide'.
To register to receive our latest press releases please contact Claire Blackburn, Media and PR Officer, at claire.blackburn@prostate-cancer.org.uk.
Please note that the Media Centre is a tool for journalists. For all other enquiries, please contact the Charity's switchboard on 020 8222 7622.
